Ready, Row! USA #78: Rowing with PRIDE!
At Ready, Row! USA, Pride Month is all about inclusion and opportunity, supporting friends & teammates as we grow this amazing sport. Guests: Brian Todd, founder and executive director of the Gay & Lesbian Rowing Federation. You may have seen Brian at regattas or the USRowing Convention, inviting people to sign the Rower’s Pledge (glrf.info and therowerspledge.org). Joining Brian is Aquil Abdullah, Olympic and Hydrow athlete. This month, Hydrow’s virtual reality rowing dashboard features 8 workouts, one for each color of the Pride flag. “My 5-year-old daughter wanted to ‘row’ my Pride workout on the machine at home, so it was an opportunity to work it into a teaching moment,” Abdullah said.
